I am taking part in this year's Race for Life in Newcastle upon Tyne! Last year's event was wonderful and I did this for my mum-in-law Liz who had completed her treatment for cancer and was on the road to recovery. Her treatment had kept her in hospital for three months and finally after her final treatment on New Year's Eve 2010 she was well enough to return home to us. She has now been cancer free for eighteen months. Last year I managed to raise £145 from friends and colleagues and hope to improve on this. 
My best friend Jan did the 2010 Race for Life with me (this is us after the event)! This year I will be on my own but surrounded by many ladies and hope to enjoy the day just as much. My lovely hubby will, of course, be there to cheer me on and take pics!
